Tibia History

Hello Tibians,

Back in 1997 when Antica was Tibia and Thais was nearly the whole world, there were only a few adventurerers who braved the bugs, the lag and the circumstances that came along with a newly-programmed game from some students calling themselves “Cip Team”. One of these ugly pixel manikin was “Havey”, my first Tibian character.

Since then many things changed in Tibia, I saw the game grewing up from a small place with 10 people online to a vast landscape with thousands of people braving adventures together. Although my addiction to hunting and being online 24/7 vanished after some years, I never quit Tibia and therefore experienced nearly all the small and major incidents of Tibias History. Additionally I made alot of experiences during my time as Counsellor of Senior Gamemaster Taghor and later of SGM/GM Flattery. And since early in 2006 I am one of Tibias Gamemasters myself. This gives me the possibility to report from the normal players point of view as well as the Counsellors/Gamemasters aspect.

My intention in Tibia has never been powergaming, although my chars are very old and neither of them has seen Rookgard once, they still have no high level. You will laugh when I tell you that in 1997-98 Havey has been a “high level” with level 15 and my little dwarf Pytru has been second place in club highscore with ~70 but hey, times changed I was always more interested in the small things like quests, exploring, having fun with friends and telling some tales at the campfire. Therefore I joined the Guild “Alliance of Free Tibians” (AFT) in 1999 and still am one of their old sea bears. I build the parcelships with Taghor&Co that we called “Tibianic” and I fought with them for our own real ship in Tibia, which was build by Taghor and implemented by Cip at last. In this ship we organized also the famous “AFT Tibianic Exhibitions” and therefore proved our knowledge about the old uniques and resources of Tibia.

During my time in Tibia I knew alot of people with rares and lovely treasures like Lightbringer and many others. When I read stories on the Tibian Boards now about the origins and knowledge about such things, it always lacerates my heart due to the untruth and rumours that are spread. Because of this and the impossibility to answer to all posts on the board, we created this place to gather knowledge of reliable sources.

I hope I can share some of my own memories with you from time to time, just return to this place to find something new!
